yeah, good decision
… But don’t forget the HDMI to Mini-Display-Port converter, the imac does only have a mini display port…
@pabloenis man that is so true..earlier this year i was going to buy a gaming pc but thought to myself…i dont even play games on my pc (i have a ps3) and the only game i play is sims 3 sometimes which is mac!! so now with the release of the new 27″ iMac and the possible connection with the ps3..i might have become a mac user instead of a pc user!!
my point: none of them are going to be a competitor to a mac. because if you can abdicate upgrading and choosing cases, you buy a mac, because it’s better.
Hey, shut up! don’t write shit like this. you had about 4 arguments for pc, now your recuring, lying or picking up old arguments, that aren’t true anymore. you lost, accept it!
1.you’re completely pissed of 2.that makes you not very trustable 3.of course you can do everything on a pc,even video editing, but on a mac, you can do it BETTER, everything you can do better on a mac(except for gaming
)! 4.videoediting was in the 90s the main reason to switch to mac, but it’s not anymore 5.again: most people choose a pc, because their to lazy to buy a better system for 500$ more, because they are confident with that what they have. they have no needs. but mac is still better.
“unix based”. You’re mistaken if you think Linux is unix based. It is NOT. So what “big servers” are you referring to? Also, fcp is for video editing. As I said it is the only thing a mac can do better at the moment than a pc. 99% of people have no need for video editing. As far as photoshop — macs have no advantage over pc’s in that area. Adobe Ps works great on pc’s, and it’s only a matter of time before something knocks fcp off the face of the earth. If ppl used macs, they’d have virus too.
Its the other way around, you can do everything on a mac that you can do on a pc. a pc cant run final cut, logic, iphoto and 1000 more apps(unless you hack it). + mac use unix witch are way more stabil. its a reason why many big servers use unix based servers. also its the thing with viruses. and how can people still say macs are overpriced? that was maybe correct 5 years ago. not now. find a “imac” pc with same or better specs for less money. you cant do it.
You brought up the look of cases, not me. And yes, pc cases can be hidden behind displays as well. They can be built in to them too. Ever heard of ITX? HP TouchSmart? All in Ones? What’s your point?
Let’s be clear. I am NOT a gamer. Neither are hospitals and banks. You say people chose mac if they have needs besides gaming. WRONG. EVERYTHING, you can do on a mac, you can do on a pc, PLUS gaming. Gaming is not why people buy pc’s, it’s just one of MANY reasons people do NOT buy macs. A more truthful statement would be: people buy pc’s because 99% of people will never need to edit professional video. My first computer was a mac, and I will never go back.
That’s because the human is a creature of habit. There are 2 categories: The ones that buy a computer, because they need one for gaming, and the ones that have a computer anyway, and don’t wanna change. So why should I switch if I have to relearn some things, and if the things i want to do on a computer just work on a pc? If you have needs to a computer beside gaming, you choose mac, because it’s better.
I dont know a single person who has a pc that is their first computer or start. Im sure 90+% of people with pc’s have owned at least 2 before it. They keep coming back, despite a continued daily bombardment of mac ads that make clear the so called difference. I think your arguement is quite out of touch with reality. People have had plenty of time to learn how “bad” windows is. Everybody has seen the ads too.
You are completely right, but I think there are more people, that would like to be treaded as a baby than people who want to tinker on their computer… and why should i need a case when i can hide the computer behind the display?
@Z4CHC but if somebody has the choice, that means enough money, they always choose mac, like in a collegue in switzerland, where half of the people have doctors as parents. hospitals don’t use mac, because windows is enough for them, and they can’t afford too much money. so again, if you wanna tinker at your computer, don’t buy a mac. but if you want just a working thing, and if you have the money for it, mac is the right thing for you.
The difference is, it works how I want it to. I am not treated like a little baby and locked out of a system i payed for, or told what i can and cant do with it. Also, it “just works”, with hundreds of times more software and hardware of MY chosing. The case that supposedly “looks like shit”, is my choice too. I can use an apple case, or any of thousands and thousands of other cases. Many of which, to me and others, look better than apple cases. Its about freedom, and CHOICE.
@Z4CHC Well, you’re lucky. I had 2 PCs, one with XP and one with Windows 7. The specs were quite bad, but that’s not an excuse for about 10 problems a day. you may even not notice them, but I have now the perspective with mac, and i saw, what really is a working computer. so why do so many people use windows then? i think most of the people don’t even know that theres a diffrence between mac and windows, they just buy the cheapest thing, because they want a start into the world of pcs. ->
“looks like shit, works like shit, and is broken every week”. Surely you don’t actually believe that?! Do you really think the vast overwhelming majority of americans, and indeed the world, (including hospitals, banks, etc) would continue using windows if mac ads were true? Every problem has a cause, and of course there are idiots who can wreck any good product by tinkering with it. But at least we CAN tinker. Windows 7 just works. And for me, so did vista.
oh, yes, if you just can’t live without playing every shooter on the highest graphics, then you’re right… but i don’t buy a computer that looks like shit, works like shit and is broken every week just because i wanna play games on it… and 1200$ is not too much for a computer, that just works!
Lol. You’re claims that you can bootcamp shit without any perf. loss only holds true if you’re comparing to a pc that has identical specs of your iMac. That’s the beauty of pcs. You can upgrade any hardware you want, when you want, without voiding your warranty for tampering with a child proof lockbox, that quite frankly, should be taken as an insult by mac users. But hey, if “denoting your lifestyle” is so important to you, that you wanna spend 3x more money than it cost to make, whatever.
@Z4CHC I only say: BOOTCAMP! Makes every pc game run on a mac on every windows version without any loss of performance… I only laugh if i see those ugly nerds that sit in their tiny room with their tower under the desk, playing brainless shooter games… Mac denotes lifestyle!
I´d like to see that. post a video or something. I doubt that your screen is even 1/5th of what this screen is like. And yes I play a game or to sometimes(and i suck), but thats not why i bought a mac. I think your a dumbass claiming that.
Proof that mac users do play games. (And suck at them.) Too bad there’s only one good game for it and it’s old as fuck… If u play games and you bought a mac, then you’re a dumbass. My pc can run cod4 in a vm better than that. Lol.
hehe, i just got my imac (but with 8GB) and the first thing i tried was COD4 on highest possible settings
)
i’m buying one too!
Fps?
I’ve uploaded a video of crysis on my 27″ imac – check it out
